Itineraries cycling: Gallicano - Vergemoli - Gallicano

Loop itinerary of exceptional beauty, difficult on the first part, across natural ambients and striking views. Km. 50.

You start from Barga-Gallicano station, you turn on right and, passing under the railway, you walk on the long tree-lined avenue that reaches the village of Gallicano, from here, following the indications for the Cave of the Wind, crossed the arch of aqueduct you go on a dirt patch (segavia GT) that coasts the streamv on the orographic right, until reaching "le crocette" and the paved street that goes up to Verni and to Trassilico, where a 5th century great fountain welcome us for a rest break. Continuing the street that goes up to the cemetery you can reach the ridge and from here, soon, Pompanella Mouth (17,2 km). CAI 135 path that requests some shoulder ways, reties to the street which linkes Campolemisi to San Pellegrinetto and that we will go towards downhill in the direction of the latter, the paved street goes down in direction of Fornovolasco, just a little before the village, on the left, the street  that lead to the Cave of the Wind is worth to visit thanks to its underground ambient's beauty. From Cave's square following for a more time uphill, we arrive on the street that then, in slightslope and with striking panoramic glimpses, leads to Vergemoli and Calomini. Enter in the little village, you have to follow the mule track that steep, goes down to the underlying Hermitage, incredibly nestled in the rocked face. Again a little way of asphalt and we arrive at Crocette locality.
