Sunset at the summit
After meeting near Rifugio Isera, at the foot of Pania di Corfino, which we will see when we look up, and after a short briefing on how to approach the excursion, we will start our path through a beautiful beech wood going up to a grassy pass that will offer us a first view of some Apennine peaks.
The path is easy and pleasant. We climb up to the main ridge from where the view extends to the south where the chain of the Apuan Alps is shown in all its entirety. Below the characteristic village of Corfino and the whole valley of Garfagnana, on the horizon the skyline of the Apuan Alps, this will be the point where we will wait for the sunset.
While waiting we can make a toast greeting the day that ends just in front of the cross of the peak of Pania di Corfino, at an altitude of 1603 meters, one of the most panoramic places in Garfagnana.
This will be the ideal time to spot some herds of mouflon and if we are lucky, the golden eagle that nests among these rocks.
We will start our descent at dusk, using the headlamps provided by the organization.
The descent will be from the rocky part of the mountain to complete our loop itinerary. After a short part in which we will move carefully, the path will be very simple and after passing the Botanical Garden it will take us to our refuge.
Botanical Garden it will lead us to our refuge where we can enjoy a typical dish prepared by Davide and Francesca. For those who wish, upon reservation, it will be possible to stay overnight in the refuge or in a tent in the camping site of the refuge and make an excursion in the National Park also the following morning.
Duration: 4-5 hours. Possible extension overnight stay and excursion the following day.

Path that provides from 2 to 3 hours of walking on easy terrain and for short stretches challenging.

In case of adverse weather conditions or if the minimum number of 2 participants is not reached, the excursion will be canceled.
