The Hermitage of Beato Viviano is located on the eastern face of Mount Roccandagia, near the path that leads from Campocatino to the Arnetola Valley. It can only be reached on foot in about 30 minutes. It is a real sanctuary set in the rock about 1090 m. asl. In this inhospitable place Viviano (Viano) led his life as an ascetic eating the wild cabbages that miraculously grew copiously on those bare rocky walls.

The entire population of Vagli is strongly devoted to Beato Viano who first became the protector of shepherds and, subsequently, when the economy of the area changed, of the quarrymen. During the summer, some volunteers organize visits to the Hermitage.
