After the success of the first edition, the “Mont’Alfonso sotto le stelle” festival returns with the same philosophy and new protagonists from 30 July to 21 August in the sixteenth-century Fortress of Mont’Alfonso in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana and at the Fortezza delle Verrucole in San Romano in Garfagnana.
These are the first names already on the calendar for the 2021 edition: Niccolò Fabi, Giovanni Allevi, Francesca Michielin and Quinteto Astor Piazzolla.
Prestigious events and internationally renowned artists, between the Apuan Alps and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, surrounded by ancient fortresses and wonderful natural scenery, with the utmost respect for anti-Covid provisions.
It starts on Friday 16 July with a preview evening in the name of Astor Piazzolla and his Garfagnana origins: on the stage of the Fortress of Mont’Alfonso the Quinteto Astor Piazzolla, a formation born within the Astor Piazzolla Foundation – under the direction of Laura Escalada Piazzolla – who for over twenty years has been traveling the world offering almost unpublished autograph arrangements and jewels by the greatest exponent of the new tango.
The evening can be accessed with a free invitation: places and methods for collecting invitations will be announced shortly on the official website www.montalfonsoestate.it, which is being updated.
Among the novelties of this edition, the involvement of other places in Garfagnana: the majestic Fortezza delle Verrucole in San Romano in Garfagnana will host the concert by Francesca Michielin on Friday 30 July which kicks off the festival. After the excellent Sanremo experience with Fedez and the release of the album “FEAT (Outside spaces)”, Francesca Michielin returns to the public with a very particular project, as in her style.
On Wednesday 11 August he takes the stage of the Fortress of Mont’Alfonso Niccolò Fabi, two hours of music, words and visual imagery, together with fellow travelers Roberto Angelini, Pier Cortese, Alberto Bianco, Daniele “mf coffee” Rossi and Filippo Cornaglia: a opportunity to relive something that has been deeply missed in this last year.
Also at the Fortress of Mont’Alfonso, Friday 13 August, all the inspiration of the composer, conductor and pianist Giovanni Allevi, in a meeting-show entitled “Words and music” which sees him alongside the actor, conductor and director Pino Strabioli.
Also confirmed is the concert at dawn on August 15th (Sunday 15 August), with a great name in Italian pianism.
