The mountian hut is located in the heart of the Panie massif. It can be reached on foot through paths starting from Versilia and Garfagnana. The most convenient access is from the locality Piglionico, in the municipality of Molazzana, along the CAI path no. 7 which first crosses a grandiose beech forest, then meadows and summit pastures (Walking time, 1.15 h).

It was born in the 1920s by the will of the Italian Alpine Club of Lucca and still today fulfills the functions for which it was designed: offering a warm and welcoming shelter where you can share the efforts and emotions of going to the mountains together. It is an excellent base for hiking, for ski mountaineers, for those who climb or for those who simply want to see the sea from the top of the Pania.

It offers a dining room and a winter bivouac with fireplace, the dormitory has 22 beds and a toilet.

Hospitality aims to enhance quality local dishes and products. Special events enliven the summer period such as the concert of Il Serchio delle Muse and the torchlight procession of San Lorenzo.
