From Piazza al Serchio the provincial road n. 51 leads to Lake Gramolazzo; continuing in the direction of Minucciano, before the tunnel, follow the road to the Val Seranaia and Orto di Donna, surrounded by the peaks of Mount Pisanino, Cavallo, Contrario, Grondilice and Pizzo d’Uccello.

This is the valley with the most alpine characteristics of the whole Garfagnana valley, marked by the presence of some marble quarries. From the tunnel continue towards Minucciano, which lies just beyond the watershed, in the immediate vicinity of the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Soccorso. From Pieve San Lorenzo, the last village in the Garfagnana, reach Casola in Lunigiana and take the regional road 445 towards Passo dei Carpinelli. From here, with a short detour, reach the Argegna plateau and the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Guardia before returning.

During working days, take care while driving near the marble trucks along Val Serenaia-Minucciano Tunnel
