Castiglione di Garfagnana is one of the 26 Tuscan villages included in the list of the Borghi più belli d’Italia (most beautiful villages of Italy). The walls and towers that still surrounds it today are the one built by the Lucchesi in 1371. Wandering around the narrow streets of the Castello del Leone is a journey through history.
It is possible to request a guided tour of the fortified village, the Church of San Michele and the Rocca by contacting the local tourist office “Pro-Loco”, in July and August directly at the Information Point, in the Town Hall.
During the year, it is always possible to book a guided tour.
